Description
This gnarled tree stump was photographed in the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve rainforest on Vancouver Island. There are two hiking trails through the rainforest. The coastal fringe where trees receive salt spray is dominated by Sitka Spruce forest. Further inland the forest is dominated by a Cedar-Hemlock forest community. The national park is on the west coast of Vancouver Island in British Columbia.

I love imagining all the events that have shaped this wood. Lovely capture and composition.

Thank you, Merana. I just love the textures that weathering has given the wood.
